Fanikiso is a Managing Partner at Umbai Impact Fund. She holds a Masters in International Business majoring in Cooperate Social Responsibility and a certificate in Impact Investment from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (Bertha Centre). Her years of experience within the Humanitarian and Development sectors with particular focus on food security, agriculture value chain sectors, social protection, financial inclusion makes her a valuable team member in identifying impact start-ups and social enterprises through an impact lens.
Most recently she worked for the United Nations World Food Programme and she has worked for International Non-Governmental Organizations within East and Southern Africa. During her 18 years of experience, she held leadership, management and technical positions and horned her skills in thought leadership, strategy design and project cycle management. Working in the development sector she has interacted with multiple donor organizations, successfully submitted funding proposals worth millions of USD, managed the funds disbursement and monitored implementation.
To be effective in her new role she has successfully blended her impact lens from working in the development sector, together with her passion for transforming the African continent and her curiosity for the start-up impact world.
